Cornerstone is a design & build company, formed in April 2017, with services in architectural design and construction. We are committed to the creation and upliftment of buildings, spaces and environments.

The firm is engaged in work throughout Southern Africa, and is informed by the local architecture of the region, as well as the immediate context and history of the specific sites. Cornerstone makes use of sustainable materials and systems, and integrates the proposed work into its landscape.

The company's mission is to provide design solutions and construction services for residential and commercial buildings of all sizes, to uplift abandoned and neglected buildings in order to make them habitable, to strive to apply a thoughtful articulation of light, proportion and scale to all of its work, while remaining ever mindful of the cost implications for clients.

Cornerstone is concerned with improving the lives of people through the provision of more affordable homes, offices and spaces for education, health, retail, recreation, and worship. The firm aims to boost the supply of affordable, usable buildings in a market where the demand by far exceeds the supply. Cornerstone provides architectural and construction services to a range of clients, with the intention to engage with clients to create a brief based on the client's needs, as well as the firm's passion for excellent architecture and construction.
